The first "Iraq Supply Chain & Logistics Conference" will be held in Erbil on the 27 - 28 October 2012.This conference is supported by leading Supply Chain, Logistics, Transport group and the global trade associations. This event will attract over 300 specialists from Iraq Kurdistan region, wider Iraq & international regions. Erbil International Airport is the lead host of the conference.
The two days conference will provide a platform to develop logistics capabilities within Iraq and help building links between the regional and international supply chain community that will make trade easier, between Iraq, its neighbors and wider trading partners. It will identify and highlight the supply chain issues that will impact Kurdistan & Iraq and how current challenges can be overcome.
The event comes at an opportune time when Erbil international airport cargo imports figures show a massive 67% increase to 17,769 tons per annum in 2011 comparing the 2012 figures and marching towards its goal firmly to become a air cargo hub in Iraq. Increasing sea cargo traffic in to Iraq and the state investments towards enhancing the handling facilities of airports, seaports and logistics and the construction of new terminals, will offer opportunities to win more business, through net working with key stake holders & learn how new technology can drive efficiencies and increase ROI.
The conference will give an excellent chance to the management & policy researchers, practitioners and consultants to explore new research areas in Supply Chain & Logistics.
